KARACHI: Suleman Soomro, President of Karachi Timber Merchants Group (KTMG) while speaking to our correspondent expressed his grave concerns regarding misbehavior of Syed Sajjad Bukhari, Additional Collector Customs valuation who not only misbehaved with a senior member and member of managing Committee of KTMG during his recent visit to Custom House, but is also notorious for this dirty roll, says a Press release. Soomro , further said that Syed Sajjad Bukhari has no right talk to a respectable and tax paying citizen in such a harsh tone that too as a ,servant he should know his limits as his salary as a public servant comes from Tax payers pocket and as a public servant he should know his limits as salaries of all public servants comes from tax payer’s pocket. KTMG would request Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue, Dr. Irshad Chairman FBR and Member Customs Zahid Khokhar to look into this matter on priority and KTMG demands suspension of Syed Sajjad Bukhari, Additional Collector Customs Valuation because this is not the first time he is doing this as in the past he misbehaved with one another member of our KTMG. KTMG also is planning to hold a meeting of trade bodies to highlight the issue if no timely action is taken. If the business community needs to be pressed by such officers, revenue collection may go down in imports sector too like our exports have gone down by USD 5 billion or more which is one major chunk and backbone of our economy. Suleman Soomro was hopeful that Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue, Dr. Irshad Chairman FBR and Member Customs Zahid Khokhar will definitely look into this matter and address the grievances by making changes in the valuation by investigating this matter thoroughly.
